Let me tell you about some facts on vitamin C that maybe you
didn't know about.

Vitamin C has been around as a supplement for years. In earlier
times, it was known that fresh citrus fruit could cure scurvy.
Yet, health practitioners during that time largely ignored its
benefits, and today's doctors, too, largely ignore the benefits
of vitamin C.

What They Don't Want You To Know

Some of the most hidden facts on vitamin C is that it does
different things at different levels of intake. When you take
small amounts of vitamin C, it reacts like a trace nutrient. You
need very little to actually stay alive, but if you don't have
any at all, you'll die. Even if you take just a few milligrams a
day, you'll be able to stay alive. When you take moderate
amounts of vitamin C, which many health proponents do, between
500 and 1500 mg a day, vitamin C works to build the immune
system. You'll have fewer colds, and if you do get the flu, you
will not suffer as much and its duration will be shortened.

However, it's at the highest levels, between 8000 and 40,000 mg
a day for adults, is where the therapeutic benefits of vitamin C
are actually seen. In fact, at these levels, vitamin C actually
has antitoxin, antihistamine, antiviral and antibiotic
properties. This is a substance greatly overlooked by physicians
today, and yet it could be very beneficial to their patients.

A Little History

In the 1940s, a doctor by the name of Frederick Klenner
actually cured cases of staph, mononucleosis, spinal meningitis,
herpes, polio, alcoholism, and even multiple sclerosis, among
many others. Even though many of these diseases have vaccines
today, vitamin C was an actual cure for them if the disease did
occur.

Too Much Vitamin C

And the good news is a vitamin C overdose is virtually unheard
of. A myth abounds that says if you take too much vitamin C, you
can get kidney stones, but this has not been proven to be true.
In fact, the only side effect of too much vitamin C is that you
have persistent diarrhea. If this occurs, then, of course come
you cut back until it goes away. However, this is at best an
unpleasant side effect that causes no ill effects as long as
it's taken care of once it occurs. Therefore, it's easy to
manage your intake so that you are at optimal levels without
being overdosed.

The bottom line is, your body needs vitamin C. It needs it in
the amounts IT requires, not those set by a governmental RDA or
something else. In fact, therapeutic doses of vitamin C can help
anyone with a variety of ailments. It's a simple matter to start
at a therapeutic dose and then adjust it as needed once your
body tells you how much you need

Now that you have some facts on vitamin C that maybe you didn't
know before, you may want to try some. You'll be astonished at
the effects.
