================== ARTICLE START ==================
Whether you're overweight or not, you have probably been on a
diet. Thin people are just as prone to unhealthy eating as those
who are heavy. And that is what a diet helps with. With a diet,
you can learn to eat responsibly. You can stop gaining calories
with soda. And snacks. Most of why people eat more than they are
supposed to is convenience. Food is always available. By using a
free diet planner, you can keep yourself motivated. Thinking
about eating right. As you think of eating healthy, you WILL eat
healthy.

There are many websites out there that will be glad to provide
you with advice and tips to starting a diet. Some will help you
along the way with planning tools. Others charge for the advice.
They will want you to buy a book. Or special "weight-loss"
meals. If you find a company that wants you to pay, walk away.
So many places can give you the same information for free. It is
never a good idea to pay for such advice.

Many health websites, including government sites, will offer
you a free diet planner simply for providing some information.
This planner will have columns for calories consumed, saturated
fats, Trans fats, and cholesterol totals. If you have high blood
pressure, you might want to find a planner that will also
include sodium intake. Of course, before you start any diet plan
you will have to have a checkup with your family doctor. He can
tell you if you need to cut down on any particular food. Or if
you are in good enough shape to go on a diet. And don't forget
to ask if you can exercise safely. People with some conditions
cannot do strenuous exercises.

You can make your own free diet planner. All you need is some
grid paper, pens and a good imagination. Look online for ideas
on how to organize your information. A planner such as this is
easily customizable. If you have to add an extra component, you
can do that. If you don't need to count cholesterol, don't
include it. The most important things to keep track of might
just be the kinds of food you eat. Some people don't believe in
counting calories. If you're one of those people, then don't
worry about the numbers. Write down what you need to eat. Then
follow your list. If you are trying to give up soda or coffee,
you can add a space to keep track of how much you drink a day.
Give yourself credit if you can go a whole day without a can of
pop or a cup of coffee. It is very important to come up with a
reward system for yourself. This may be very simple, like
affording yourself extra time alone, or a small gift the next
time you go to the store. It doesn't have to be anything big.
Just enough to keep yourself motivated. The most important thing
is to keep up with the diet, and you can't do that if you punish
yourself for falling short.
